1976 FERRARI 308 GTB "Vetroresina" (FIBERGLASS)1997 ORIGINAL MILES
Introduced at 1975 Paris Motor Show, the 308 GTB featured Pininfarina-styled bodywork constructed of glass-reinforced plastic over a tubular steel chassis. Less then 1000 fiberglass-bodied Vetroresina cars were produced by Carrozzeria Scaglietti for all Markets before the switch to steel body panels in June 1977. The 308 GTB features pop-up headlights, side air intakes, and a vented decklid. Further details include dual side mirrors, louvered rear quarter windows, and a silver-finished muffler with a single outlet.
Silver-finished 14″ five-spoke alloy wheels are mounted with 205/70 VR14 Michelin XWX tires. The car features a fully independent suspension with double wishbones front and rear, and stopping power is provided by ventilated discs at each corner.
The cockpit features bolstered seats trimmed in leather upholstery, which extends to the dash and door. Equipment includes an Blaupunkt stereo as well as air conditioning and electric windows.
The leather-wrapped MOMO steering wheel is paired with a gated shifter featuring a dogleg gear pattern. Veglia instrumentation consists of a tachometer with a 7,700-rpm redline accompanied by a 180-mph speedometer and supplementary gauges including an analog clock and a coolant temperature gauge mounted to the left of the steering wheel. The five-digit odometer shows 16k miles.
The mid-mounted 2.9L F106 quad-cam V8 is equipped with four twin-choke Weber 40DCNF carburetors and was factory rated at 237 horsepower. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. The seller notes that the last timing belt service was in 2019, and an oil change was performed in 2024.

This 1976 Ferrari 308 GTB is finished in Grigio Metallizzato over Crema leather and is one of approximately 715 fiberglass-bodied vetroresina examples produced between 1975 and 1977 and one of only 100 imported into the US by the Factory. Power is provided by a 2.9-liter quad-cam V8 paired with a five-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential,
19787 was built in July 1976 and then imported to the USA late in the same year. It was acquired by its first owner in Mr Ralph Brass of Verona, NJ in June of 1977. He in turn sold it to its second owner Mr Eugene Stetson of Vermont through a dealer in New York. Its third and last owner purchased #19787 in March of 2005. In the intervening forty nine years since its construction This 308 GTB has been the prized possession of knowledgeable and fastidious collectors who understood the rarity and unique nature of this time capsule of Seventies Ferrari technology. It is now offered by Milestone Motorcars in excellent running condition having just been serviced after a long period of dormancy. It comes with a complete history file including service orders, original sales order, progressive registrations and along with the service orders, confirms the mileage. It also has a complete tool kit and jack bag in like new condition. It has its original document pouch with all the books including the original warrantee card and every document the car came with when new including the radio warrantee and manual. It has also been issued a Ferrari Classiche “Redbook” showing total originality with no exclusions.
As to condition, the car simply presents as new never having had any paintwork or touch up and the interior leather is supple and excellent. Nothing in the car shows any wear at all.
