Palm Beach Chapter FCA Concours November 2019

November 30, 2020

With the recent change in weather, the car shows in Florida have begun. We were in attendance at the Palm Beach Chapter FCA Concours with four Ferrari’s. The day started as most do, with a run out to the show, a quick fuel stop and arriving early enough to find our spots on the lawn, surrounded by many other fine Ferrari automobiles from all ages. We were met be the owner of the cars, a true Ferrari enthusiast, Mr. G. Simon. Mr. Simon, smiling as always was quick to make sure all his cars were in the correct and prestine order that they always are. With that in check, coffee was next and a wonder of the lawn to meet and greet many friends we know. Featured there was some special automobiles from some fine collections, including a low mileage US specification F50 belonging to the Jacobs Collection. Sitting next to it was a competition steel body Ferrari 250 SWB Belinetta that has been in single ownership for decades and is a regular feature on many tours and concours lawns. After strict FCA guideline judging had begun, we waited nervously for the results and prize giving. An elated Mr. Simon received his first Platinum (97+/100) award for his 1972 365 GTB/4 Daytona, followed by another, and another until he was stood holding four FCA Platinum awards for all his featured cars, a Best in Class for 6 Cylinder cars, and the concours Spirit Cup for the attending competitor who shows the most spirit and passion for Ferrari.
